GRAND HYATT ATLANTA IN BUCKHEAD’S EXECUTIVE CHEF THOMAS MCKEOWN AWARDED HYATT’S PRESTIGIOUS CHEF OF THE YEAR AWARD

Executive Chef Thomas McKeown Awarded Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s Executive Chef of the Year Award

March 5, 2014 – Chef Thomas McKeown, Executive Chef of Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, has been awarded Hyatt Hotels Corp. Executive Chef of the Year Award for mid-size hotels (400-599 rooms). The award recognizes outstanding achievements in leadership, creativity and reinforcing Hyatt's commitment to guest service, sustainability and local sourcing.

 

Chef McKeown joined Hyatt as Executive Chef at Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead in 2010. Chef McKeown is passionate about food and is a huge advocate of local and sustainable produce. When not in the hotel kitchen he can be found at the Peachtree Road Farmers Markets or at one of the many local farms with whom he has started CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture).

Prior to moving to Atlanta and starting his career with Hyatt, Chef McKeown was Sous Chef at the exclusive Somerset Club in Boston. Originally from Ireland and classically trained in Europe, he also attended Johnson & Wales in Providence, R.I. McKeown is married and has two sons.
